Neck & Shoulder Stretches: Rhomboid

Writer's picture: Advanced VitalityAdvanced Vitality

This stretch is great in combination with the Pec stretch. The rhomboids are muscles that attach our shoulder blades to our ribs and spine. These muscles get tight from our modern lifestyle postures and are aggravating factors for people with neck pain, headaches and upper back pain. This information comes from the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative in partnership with the Centre for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation.

Instructions:

1. Sit or stand comfortably and interlace your fingers in front of your body.

2. Gently tuck your chin and push your arms forward

3. Round your back and hold this position for 20-30 seconds repeat 3-5x/day
